Moment of Grace

Moment of Grace honors the breathtaking encounter with a sea turtle on her timeless ocean journey — a meeting that feels both rare and deeply blessed. Hand‑burned into a live‑edge basswood panel, every curve of the turtle and every drifting plant is rendered with quiet reverence. The panel is mounted on a Pan Pastel–painted board that deepens the aquatic glow beneath the woodburned lines, and framed in solid oak stained walnut for a warm, grounded finish.

Along the right side of the panel, an original poem written in the turtle’s own voice reveals her inner passage — slow, steady, curious, and guided by the living waters. The poem becomes part of the artwork itself, transforming the piece into a dual experience of visual storytelling and intimate narrative.

This artwork has been accepted into the Okaloosa Public Arts Gallery and will be exhibited at the Okaloosa Administration Building in Shalimar, Florida, representing the quiet wonder and spiritual stillness found in ocean life.
